David BernknopfA working journalist for more than 50 years, David Bernknopf began his writing career when he convinced his 4th grade teacher the school needed a monthly, mimeographed newsletter. During college, he produced talk radio for WIND in Chicago and spent asummer at all-news KQV radio in Pittsburgh. He decided to take a chance on a brand-new 24-hour news operation just beginning in Atlanta: CNN. One of the network's original employees, he spent more than 20 years at CNN, writing and producing, covering politics and Presidential elections and working on documentaries around the world. His last story for CNN: covering 9/11 where he was the network's site producer at the scene of the United flight 93 disaster in Pennsylvania. Shortly after, David left to run his own video production company. He then returned to journalism, working in Washington DC on a national investigative news program before taking a flyer and moving to Alaska for two years to run the state's only investigative TV news operation. At one time, he naively thought he could figure out a way to get along with anyone in the workplace. He learned better. David still keeps his hand in the news business, working on documentaries. He has two amazing kids, loves to travel and tries to keep up with new music despite growing up with the Beatles always in his head. Read More Read Less
