DARYL B THOMASDaryl B Thomas is a native of Georgia, born and raised in the rural suburbs outlying Savannah. As a business major, he graduated from Georgia State University and followed a dual path in corporate career goals and interests in the performing arts. Dayl has considered metro Atlanta as his "home" for more than two decades. From 2005 - 2008, Daryl visited spoken word and performance poetry venues in Harlem and Queens, NY, where he gained the confidence to share his work publicly through the microphone. Since then, he has participated as a guest speaker on a number of talk shows, including nationally syndicated and internet radio. His first major publication, the novel, "Suga, Don't Grind - Know Caine," represents a culmination of more than 20 years of work, including a major revision and re-write from 2014 - 2017. Daryl B Thomas is known for former contributions to spoken word communities with the pseudonym, "Atlanta Red/A.R." Earlier recorded productions and written publications include, "My Love, My Poetry," "The Aspirations of Atlanta Red" (2006), "Gifts of Inspiration," "Sentimental Reflections," "Lover's Garden" (2005), "The Myriads of Erotica (an alternative language to the voice of eroticism" (2005), "From These Roots, I Grow" (2007), "Celibacy & Wedding Bells" (2008), and many other collaborative works. In 2006, Daryl founded 7Poets1Name, a global team of poets and spoken word artists missioned with a focus on youth ministry through literary arts. The group completed several productions which were digitally published through the efforts of team members located across the U.S., extending the Europe (The United Kingdom) from 2006 - 2007. All work performed was done so on a volunteer basis. None of the productions (more than 10 records) were utilized to generate profit. In 2007 - 2008, Daryl led another global team-based project, "Poetic Stimulus," which included teamwork of several well-known artists in the United States and The Netherlands. The digital album was comprised of 8 tracks and was marketed as a free download in an effort to support political efforts to motivate economic recoveries stemming from the onset of the global recession. Interests in song-writing and voice-overs also led to an award-winning collaboration with artist, songstress, and producer, Jamitta, in 2008. The song, "Sucka Fiend," was ranked number one on national Ourstage charts in the Spoken Word category. The song, a hybrid production of spoken word and R&B, remains a strong cross-over contender among R&B, Spoken Word, and Urban music enthusiasts. Today, Daryl celebrates his first novel, Suga, Don't Grind - Know Caine. Based on his personal commitment to contribute to the fulfillment of purpose in the lives of young adults, his book emphasizes hope, love, and motivation through literary arts productions. Daryl also has a long list of songs and titles written and registered through BMI (under the pen name, Atlanta Red). Read More Read Less
