Darrell GrayDarrell Gray was born 20 April 1945 and died in October 1986 in Oakland, California. After attending the Writers' Workshop at the University of Iowa he wrote the Actualist Manifesto. He taught sporadically but mainly professed the occupation of poet.G. P. Skratz recalls: "He seemed to invent fake Darrells with the goofy mystery of nursery school sketches or his favorite comic strip, Ernie Bushmiller's Nancy, to which he attributed cosmic meaning.
