Dana's choice comes from a very troubled family life in her youth. Her family was characterized by unhealthy relationships both between the parents and the mother towards her. She had to struggle to assert her personality without being ruined by the relationships that surrounded her completing a long journey of healing and personal development. She had to learn to love people with disturbed personalities without being overwhelmed. The choice to study psychology and psychiatry helped her to emerge from the deep sense of guilt that felt so strongly during her childhood and her youth.
