Cyril JonesWelsh-born Australian journalist Cyril Jones has had a distinguished career in Australian media, encompassing newspapers, television, radio and documentary video production. Over a period of time he was a Senior News Producer and an Executive Produce with all three Australian television Networks. He had earlier been a successful news reporter covering many of Australia’s leading news stories, including being first on the scene at Cheviot Beach in 1968 following news that the Australian Prime Minister, Harold Holt, had gone missing in wild surf. His live reporting from the beach went Australia-wide. Now retired and living in Melbourne, Cyril has travelled the world as a correspondent and documentary producer. In 1992 he produced a ground-breaking documentary Hitler: The Final Chapter, which told for the first time what happened after Soviet troops entered Hitler’s Bunker in Berlin, in May 1945.
