Clark WorswickClark Worswick( 1940-) was born in Berkeley, California. After attending the progressive Verde Valley School in Arizona (1954-1958) he enrolled in Visva Bharati University, at Santinikitan in West Bengal (India). Thereafter, he traveled extensively btween India and Europe taking photographs, and collecting Indian antiquities in the first wave of young westerners to pass though the Iranian, and Afghan deserts on their way to India. His book The Orchid House Art Smuggling and Appointments in India and Afghanistan recount these seldom described travels. Worswick has written eight books on west Asian subjects, and his books have been selected as "Best of the Year" by Time, Newsweek, The Sunday Times (London), The New York Times, and The Washington Post. His books on Indian, Chinese and Japanese 19th century photography were the first works to identify scores of non-European artists working in the medium. Read More Read Less
