Christopher KoenigsmannChristopher Koenigsmann is an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Fordham University. He received his Ph.D. from Stony Brook University and was a postdoctoral associate at Yale University. His research group focuseson designing, synthesizing and characterizing nanostructured materials tailored for use in renewable energy, air purification and sensor technology. He teaches the general chemistry lecture and lab courses and is interested in using active and group learning strategies to improve student engagement in the course. In addition, he developed a new online learning platform for general chemistry laboratories that combines tutorials, digital simulations and algorithmically generated content to create digital pre- and post-lab assignments that accompany hands-on laboratory experiments. Koenigsmann grew up in suburban New York and developed an interest in chemistry in high school thanks to the passion and dedication of his high school chemistry teacher. Read More Read Less
