Charles Searle

Charles Searle’s love of history was kindled at an early age by a passionate teacher who fired his imagination with epic tales of the adventures of Peter the Great and Napoleon. As an academic historian, he wrote articles for obscure journals read only by fellow academics. After a career in various branches of education, he has returned to writing about his first love; history. In 2025, he published his first novel, The Hooded Man, the first volume in The Dark Years trilogy.
