Casey ZakroffCasey Zakroff is a marine ecophysiologist (he studies how animals' bodies function and interact with their environment), researching how stress impacts marine invertebrates (especially squid and other cephalopods!). He is also an avid science ommunicator, and, now, comics author. Growing up on the coasts of Florida and Maine, he pursued a passion for the ocean, going tidepooling and whale watching, and eventually scuba diving in reefs across the world. He has a PhD in Biological Oceanography from MIT and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), which he was working on when he wrote Science Comics: Whales, his first graphic novel.
