CardwellI grew up in a small steel town in western PA. Upon graduating high school I attended the University of Pittsburgh earning a bachelor of science degree in Biology. I then went on to Temple University Dental School followed by a two year stint in the ublic Health Service in W.VA. I finally landed in Ocean City, NJ taking over the practice of Dr. Nelson Robbins. And here I remain. I have been writing and illustrating picture books for over 30 years. It's a way for me to exercise creativity. Having read a number of picture books to my now grown children I am very conscious of including the parent and/or guardian when I am developing a story. I want them to also enjoy both the story and the illustrations. Most of my picture books work on more than one level--both the writing and the pictures.
