C. Rajagopalachari
C. Rajagopalachari (1878–1972), popularly known as Rajaji, was an Indian statesman, lawyer, independence activist, and prolific author. He is remembered both as the last Governor-General of India and as a writer who retold India’s epics and spirital classics in simple, accessible language. Rajaji’s Ramayana and Mahabharata retellings remain classics, often used in schools and homes for introducing children to Indian epics. He balanced his political leadership with a lifelong dedication to spiritual and cultural education.
