Alice Muriel Williamson, born on October 8, 1858, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Marcus and Jane King, was an American-English author. Her father co-founded the Ohio State and Union Law College. After her separation from her first husband, Lieutenant William Reeve Hamilton, who disapproved of her acting career, Alice moved to England in 1892. sThere, she became a foreign correspondent for the Boston Evening Transcript. After marrying Charles Norris Williamson in 1894, Alice devoted herself to writing fiction and was a successful author.
