Brian Wickers

Raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Brian Wickers now lives in Toronto, where he teaches English at a private school. His poetry has appeared in numerous Canadian publications including Descant, Fiddlehead, and The Malahat Review; he has also been showcsed in a variety of American reviews such as The Atlantic Monthly, Poetry, and The Paris Review. Wickers has held grants from the Ontario, Manitoba, and Canada Arts Councils, and his writing was shortlisted in the Discovery/The Nation poetry contest. He was the winner of the 2004 Toronto Star poetry contest, and was a finalist in the National Magazine Awards for work published in BorderCrossings.
