Brian Patrick McGuire is professor emeritus of The Medieval Centre of Copenhagen University. The author of The Cistercians in Denmark and Friendship and Community: The Monastic Experience, 350-1250, as well as numerous articles, he hlds a AB degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and a D.Phil. from Balliol College, Oxford.
