A graduate of Princeton, he served as CEO of Quker Oats subsidiaries in Colombia and Venezuela, then as product manager of pet foods in the US, he became Quaker's 1967-8 Marketing Man of the Year and director of market strategy & analysis. After Quaker, he founded Naturescapes, Inc., the United States Youth Sailing Championship, and the SAIL 73 Wilmette community sailing program. He got into the business of boating at age 41 as marketing VP of AMF/Alcort to resurrect Sunfish sales. As the founding marketing genius behind J Boats, Inc., the world's leading performance sailboat brand, he was involved in 50+ designs, 20 of which became Boat-of-the-Year..
