BlupoetresBorn and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Phoebe Eligon-Jones aka Blupoetres has dedicated over 21
years to teaching English at the same NYC high school. After experiencing burnout in 2023, she
transitioned from classroom teacher to dean, seeking to ave a more direct and impactful
influence on students. Blupoetres holds four degrees: an Associate in Arts, a Bachelor of Science
in Secondary Education, a Master of Science in Education, and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative
Writing.
In addition to teaching, Blupoetres is an accomplished poet, with a deep passion for writing
works that highlight marginalized voices and struggles. She self-published a book
titled Medicine for the Marrow, a collection that reflects this commitment to amplifying stories
that challenge, inspire, and provoke thought. Through poetry, Blupoetres seeks to motivate
readers and encourage dialogue, pushing them to reflect on uncomfortable truths and engage
