Bend Creative WritersOn Monday mornings in the summer of 2016, a small group of friends began to meet on the second floor of Dudley's Bookshop in Bend, Oregon. Their purpose was to partake in a Creative Writing group, agree on a 'prompt' and spontaneously write for fortyfive minutes. At the end of the forty-five minutes, they would read their stories aloud to each other without fear of criticism. It soon became evident that the diversity of content among the authors was not only entertaining, it was healing, thought-provoking and often comical. All were amazed what the imagination could come up with in such a short period of time! It was this enjoyment that encouraged them to publish their collection of short stories in this community book. For clarity and ease, the stories are laid out in alphabetical order, and so are the authors. Each story is a chapter, with each author contributing their interpretation of the prompt for that story. As you feast your imagination on the stories, you'll find how uniquely different each author has treated the prompt.
