He earned a BA in economic history from the University ofWisconsin, Milwaukee, an MA in theological studies from Wheaton College, Illinois, an MTh from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, United Kingdom, and a PhD in history of Christianity in the non-Western world from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, United Kingdom.
