Barbara Baynton
Barbara Baynton (1857-1929) was born at Scone, NSW, to Irish bounty immigrants. As a writer, Baynton was most famous for her short stories about life in the bush. Bush Studies was published in 1902, followed by the novel em>Human Toll in 1907. Baynton also wrote for The Sydney Morning Herald and The Bulletin. Upon her third marriage, she acquired the title of Lady Headley.
