From a young age, I struggled with beauty and body image issues, made worse by the confusing messages about beauty, fashion and images I saw in magazines, online, and inthe media. In my professional career, I've enjoyed working in fashion and media in NYC, LA, and around the world. I spoke with thousands of individuals, from TV producers to high fashion photographers to professional models, authors, academics, and celebrity stylists wanting to tell their stories about beauty and their own experience with body image, imposter syndrome, confidence issues, and more. These rare glimpses into the details of the industry, combined with research and stats, further confirmed my belief that while more and more people are aware of the role social media and traditional media has in shaping our perception of who we are, what we can have, and who we should be, we need daily rewiring of our mindset to counter-act and equip ourselves to be truly confident and live our best lives. My dream has been to create something that truly lasts and helps make a permanent dent in the definition of beauty, so we can each feel safer in our own skin, confident in our ability, and free to expand to the fullest capacity of our potential.
