Arunkumar Palaniappan

Dr. Arunkumar Palaniappan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Engineering at SRM University-AP, Amaravati, India. He earned his Ph.D. in Biomaterials from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay and has completed postdoctral research at The Ohio State University, USA and the University of Cincinnati Medical Centre, USA. Dr. Palaniappan's research focuses on the design of advanced biomaterials, bioactive interfaces, smart drug delivery systems, 3D bioprinting, microphysiological systems, and biofabrication strategies for tissue regeneration, cardiovascular engineering, and precision medicine. His work bridges fundamental biomaterials research with translational healthcare technologies aimed at improving diagnostics, therapeutics, and personalized medicine. He has authored more than 45 peer-reviewed publications, several book chapters, and multiple granted and published patents, and has secured competitive research funding from agencies including the Department of Science and Technology (DST-SERB) and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

An active contributor to the global biomaterials community, Dr. Palaniappan serves as a reviewer for leading international journals and has delivered invited lectures at national and international forums. His current research vision emphasizes Biointerface Engineering for Advancing Bioconvergence, integrating biomaterials, additive manufacturing, bioelectronics, artificial intelligence, and microphysiological systems to develop next-generation healthcare technologies for regenerative medicine and personalized therapeutics.
