Antoine De Baecque Antoine de Baecque is a historian specializing in the Enlightenment and the French Revolution, and a film critic specializing in the French New Wave and contemporary theater. He served as editor in chief of Cahiers du cinema magazine and cultural edior of Libération newspaper, and he has penned numerous books and essays, including biographies on François Truffaud, Jean-Luc Godard, and Eric Rohmer.
