Anna Wise

Anna Wise is a direct student of Shri K. Pattabhi Jois and R. Sharath Jois. She has been a regular student at the K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute for many years and was Authorized by the Institute to teach the Ashtanga system in 2003. Anna is also an experienced pregnancy yoga teacher and a baby massage instructor. Over the years she has worked with hundreds of pregnant women and new mothers, including many Ashtanga practitioners. As well as teaching yoga, Anna works for the charityBirth Companions, which supports vulnerable pregnant women. She is part of a team running a pregnancy group at her local women’s prison, and also supports vulnerable women during the birth of their babies. Anna lives in London. She and her husband Hamish Hendry run London’s only dedicated traditional Ashtanga yoga shala. They have one daughter, who has been accompanying them to Mysore since she was four-months old.
