Anna L. SchwartzAnna L. Schwartz, FNP, PhD, FAAN is an Associate Research Professor in the department of Biobehavioral Nursing and Health Systems at the University of Washington School of Nursing. She conducts research on exercise and symptom management in adults wth cancer. The focus of her work is two-fold: 1) managing side effects and symptoms experienced by patients receiving treatment for cancer, and 2) reducing the risks for long-term physiological and psychological side effects of treatment that negatively impact cancer survivors. Dr. Schwartz's program of research is funded by the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR), National Cancer Institute (NCI), Oncology Nursing Foundation and the Department of Defense Breast Cancer Research Initiative. She developed the Schwartz Cancer Fatigue Scale and is well known for her work on the management of cancer-related fatigue.
