Anna Kerdijk Nicholson
Anna Kerdijk Nicholson started writing poetry at age 5 but later veered off to practise as a lawyer. Despite that, she has had 3 previous poetry collections and 3 chapbooks published: The Bundanon Cantos [2003] Five Islands Press, What was Lost [2007] Picaro Press, Wagtail, Possession: poems about the voyage of Lt. James Cook in the Endeavour: 1768-1771 [2010] Five Islands Press, Everyday Epic [2015] Puncher & Wattmann, Dictat [2025] Poesis Press and 'True Wit & Beauty' [2025] Poesis Press. Possession won the Victorian Premier's Prize and Wesley Michel Wright prizes for poetry and was shortlisted for two other premiers' prizes. Her poems have received awards in major Australian prizes and are in seminal Australian poetry anthologies.
