Angela ToppingAngela Topping was born in Widnes to working-class parents. She was educated in Liverpool for over a decade, gaining two Literature degrees at the University. She wrote poetry from a young age, and it has been a lifelong passion. Her poems have appeaed in over 100 anthologies, and in journals including Poetry Review, The North, Magma, Stand and The Dark Horse. Her poems have won two first prizes in international competitions. ‘Hearth’ was a PBS autumn pamphlet. She was a Writer in Residence at Gladstone’s Library in 2013. She also writes for children.
