Andrew P Partington

Andrew P PartingtonAndrew P Partington is unfortunately in his fifties and a bit of an Australian polymath: a writer, musician, teacher and IT administrator with a philosophical bent, who shares his house with his housemate, Nick, a guitar hero and generally cool Maoriguy, and his housemate's dog, an impossibly cute Chinese Shar-Pei puppy who is exceptionally well house-trained and endearingly naughty. He (by which I mean Andrew, not the dog) has designed websites, programmed in Python, Pascal and Basic back in the 80s, managed databases and computer infrastructure (the dog is clever but not that clever!), however despite all this apparent expertise he is a failure in almost everything he has tried: for instance the musical he wrote about a particular nineteenth century Sudanese mystical warrior named the Mahdi that was set to begin rehearsals on September the 12th 2001. Or the other musical he wrote, where the main investor had his new internet company launch on March 11 2000 (you may work out what happened if you look at the dates of these debacles minus one day in each case.) Doubtless these disasters were predestined by God for some reason that Andrew still doesn't fathom but that was for his good, for "all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose", (Romans 8:28) etc etc. Praise the Lord. Andrew spent part of his childhood in the US, in Seattle, where he convinced his classmates to become anti-nuclear activists and was labelled as a trouble-maker by the art teacher because of his Australian accent, which she took to be a British accent and obviously indicated that he was a racist colonialist white kid. Andrew's education has included tertiary units in computer programming, statistics, research methods, philosophy, Biblical history, New Testament Greek, the Near-Eastern background to the Old Testament as well as educational philosophy units that covered the scientific method and data gathering. He is widely read in literature, philosophy, and modern history, but as you shall see if you read his books, he has generally failed to come to an agreeable opinion about anything that might result in him being approved as a Proper Citizen worthy of Social Credits or a High Ranking in any particular search engine or even any enduring Facebook posts (for some reason his posts have been removed)Andrew P Partington's latest book, "Proximal Birdflip" is a humorous look at the political manipulations behind a fictional pandemic, the Birdflip virus; this of course is quite ridiculous and the unlikelihood of the medical establishment being manipulated by unscrupulous administrators and billionaires is so clear that it makes this book extremely funny. The hero, Doctor Faustus, is bravely battling to lock everybody down and then to get his vaccines developed in the political environment of President Danillo Crump, who is of course a completely fictional comical figure who again could never arise in real life. Nonetheless, despite the latest book being satire, as the reader of this sad spiel must surely perceive, Andrew obviously also has the requisite background knowledge to create a plausible Christian techno-thriller. Nonetheless these books are marred by implausibility: the Bel Algorithm includes a President who bumbles up his sentences and seems a little confused and even maybe has dementia and who is being manipulated by others behind the scenes - oh okay it's fiction but that would never happen in real life, would it? The first of these books, the Adamantine Disclosure, managed to gain it's only US review from an ignorant, stupid reviewer who thinks that because a book has the premise that the flood of Noah is a real historical event, that every character in that book must believe this, and that no characters in the book would subscribe to the evolutionary viewpoint. Sadly for the book's popularity, everyone reads the review and no one buys the book. Read More Read Less
