Amedeo Arena
Dr Amedeo Arena is Assistant Professor of European Union Law (Ricercatore) at the University of Naples 'Federico II', where he teaches EU Law and International Private Law and sits on the academic board of the JSD Programme in EU Competitio Law. He graduated in Law summa cum laude from the University of Rome and holds LLM degrees from King's College London and New York University, where he was also Research Associate and Fulbright Fellow. He completed a JSD and a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the Department of International Law at the University of Naples 'Federico II' and was a Visiting Scholar at the Institute of Information Law at the University of Amsterdam and at the Centre of European Law at King's College London. Dr Arena is the author of a monograph on public services in economic integration agreements (Naples, Editoriale Scientifica 2011) and a monograph on the doctrine of preemption in EU law (Naples, Editoriale Scientifica, 2013), as well as of several articles published in international peer-reviewed journals and edited books. A regular contributor to the online journal IRIS - Legal observations of the European Audiovisual Observatory, Dr Arena took part as national legal expert in several research projects in the field of media law conducted by the European Audiovisual Observatory, the European Institute of Media Law, and GfK Audimetrie on behalf of the European Commission, the European Parliament, and the European Broadcasting Union.
Prof. Mastroianni wrote §§ 1 and 2 of the General Introduction, Part I, Part II, Chapter 4 of Part III, and Part IV. Dr Arena wrote §3 of the General Introduction, Part III (except for Chapter 4), and Part V.
