Alka Tyagi

Alka TyagiAlka Tyagi is a multi-faceted academic, researcher, and practitioner whose work bridges English literature, Sanskrit studies, and yogic philosophy. She is currently a Professor of English at Dyal Singh (Evening) College, University of Delhi, where sh has taught for over 20 years. Her scholarly journey is marked by an interdisciplinary approach to Indian philosophical traditions. She holds a PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) with a thesis on "Intersemiotic Transformations". To further her research into primary sources, she earned a second Master’s degree—an M.A. in Sanskrit—from the University of Delhi. Her research focuses on Kashmiri Trika Śaivism, the Upanishads, and medieval Bhakti literature. She was a Fellow at the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS), Shimla, where she completed her monograph on Bhavana and Bhairava. Read More Read Less
