Working variously as a teacher in Kathmandu, barman in L magazine editor in Hong Kong, copywriter in Barcelona, TV reporter in Bangkok and Mojito beach-vendor in Ibiza, Alex returned to the UK after judiciously falling off a cliff in Kanya free-climbing and incapacitating himself for a year.
