Albert SoboulAlbert Soboul was born into a peasant family in the Cévennes in 1914. A pupil of Georges Lefebvre, whom he acknowledges as his outstanding teacher, he gained his doctorate with his monumental study of the Parisian sansculottes. In 1967 he becae Professor of the History of the French Revolution at the Sorbonne.
