Alan OnickelInternationally known Performer, Teacher, and choreographer Alan Onickel was enjoying his life when it was suddenly changed one drizzly morning in South Africa. Until then he'd had the extreme fortune to have worked on 6 out of 7 continents on our spnning little mud ball. Known especially for his knowledge and skills of Jazz and Tap dancing, he was traveling to Cape Town to finish a workshop he was teaching with his former student and good friend Yuval Beck when a driver going in the wrong direction almost ended his life. After enduring 4 days in a coma Alan had to spend 3 weeks in the hospital until it was decided he was well enough for his parents to bring him back to the USA. After almost a year of living back with his parents while relearning how to walk, talk, and generally take care of himself, he was finally given the OK to return to NY and attempt to reclaim his former life.
