His second book, the novel Faith for Beginners (Random House) was nominated fora Lambda Literary Award. His fiction, essays, and reviews have appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Tin House, Tablet, The Forward, Boulevard, Subtropics, Crazyhorse, Poets and Writers, Details, and many others. He has been a resident at the Edward F. Albee Foundation, the Civitella Ranieri Foundation, Yaddo, and Djerassi.
