A Bertram Chandler

Arthur Bertram Chandler (1912-1984) was born in Aldershot, England, and in 1956 emigrated to Australia where he commanded merchant vessels for Australia and New Zealand until his retirement in 1974. A prolific writer of science-fition novels and short fiction, he received four Australian SF Achievement Award "Ditmars" for his novels, nearly all of which were published in the United States.
