Outgoing commander Colonel "Crazy Tom" Prescott-once the star quarterback in high school and Daniel's former classmate-refuses to step aside. What begins as a contested transfer quickly becomes something far more dangerous. With his authority challenged at every step, Daniel seeks allies without knowing who he can trust.
At the same time, his daughter Karen-a top cadet at The Ohio State Military University-prepares to embark on her own career. Driven, disciplined, and certain of her future, she believes her next year will be decisive.

He served on Freedom's Frontier in Korea and later in West Germany during the final decade of the Cold War.After leaving the Army, Scott returned home to Cincinnati, Ohio, where he built a career in the brokerage industry, working in supervisory roles.He is currently a Partner and the Executive Editor at Dragon Street Press, where he collaborates with fellow authors to bring new works into the world.Scott is active in the creative community, including a stint as President of the Cincinnati Fiction Writers beginning 2022.
