About the Book

An only child raised by a secretive, volatile mother, Millie wrestled with mysteries about her birth. Every attempt to follow the clues was met with avoidance and resistance. Then one day, a shocking discovery in an old tabloid magazine shattered Millie's world. It confirmed what she suspected, but also raised deeper, more painful questions. Would she ever find the truth? Was there any hope for overcoming the shame and anger? Out of the Attic is a powerful memoir told by Millie's daughter, written with the emotional force of a novel. Heralded as "worthy of being on Oprah's show," this is a story of rugged hope, finding lost family, and one woman's extraordinary search for the kind of freedom only love can bring.

About the Author :
Pamela Spock, an entrepreneur and blogger, explores metaphors from nature, and spiritual life lessons in her writings. Inspired by her mother's extraordinary story, she wrote her first memoir, Out of the Attic, released eight years after her mother's passing. In honor of her mother's heart for children who have faced trauma and abuse, Pamela donates 100% royalties from the book to Compassion International, a nonprofit child sponsorship and humanitarian organization. She lives in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York, where she enjoys spending time with friends, working on quirky side hustles, and playing pickleball. Pamela continues to write and share life lessons on a personal blog that bears her name; readers can easily find it with a quick web search.

Review :
"Out of the Attic by Pamela Spock is a beautifully written and deeply engaging biography of her mother. I truly couldn't put it down! Pamela weaved together her mother's life story with care, honesty, and a gripping narrative that kept me turning the pages late into the night." "I devoured this book in two days, as I found myself deeply absorbed into the heart of this well told story. A true story of one woman's journey to be free of the past - of finding a beautiful new life - despite the wounds from a difficult childhood." "With every chapter, I found myself cheering Millie as she confronted the cruelties life had handed her, to emerge victorious and embrace healing. Out of the Attic is wonderfully told with an awe-inspiriting conclusion."
