About the Book

MURDER ON BREWSTER FLATS is set in the mid-1990s on Cape Cod, with several side trips to its islands, the West Indies, and a delightful detour to the South of France, as defense lawyer William "Boston Billy" O'Neill chases evidence to acquit a local character charged with murdering a prominent businessman with a dark past and associations with organized and disorganized crime members who imported and sold large quantities of cocaine. From the discovery of a body wrapped in chains and an anchor at the low-water mark on Brewster Flats to a jury returning a verdict at the venerable Barnstable Courthouse, the reader will be entertained by the fast-moving plot and familiar waypoints on the Cape peninsula.

About the Author :
The Hon. Christopher J. Muse, a resident of Cape Cod retired after Seventeen years on the Massachusetts Superior Court. After graduating from Georgetown University, he taught in the Boston Public Schools, earning a law degree in the evening program at Suffolk Law School, then beginning an active trial practice in both the state and federal courts. Chris' first work of non-fiction, Justice Under God, is the true story of the author's efforts as a young attorney to seek justice for a man wrongfully incarcerated . In 1971, nineteen-year-old Bobby Joe Leaster was convicted of armed robbery and murder on little evidence, and would have spent his life in prison without the efforts of the author and his father, attorney Robert F. Muse. In 1986 Chris and his father secured their client's release after Mr. Leaster had served fifteen and a half years in prison. Since its publication, Chris has found a passion to write courtroom dramas that reflect his years as a lawyer and a judge, inspired by people and events who came into his professional life, and by a love of courthouse justice.
