About the Book

The Ring That Changed Nothing tells the story of De-De, a woman who survived a life shaped by trauma, mistakes, and heartbreak, and who ultimately found the strength to reclaim herself. From a childhood marked by neglect, abuse, and poverty to the turbulent years of young adulthood, De-De navigates a world where love is conditional, and safety is never guaranteed. Learning early on that survival often requires silence, endurance, and constant adaptation, she struggles to find her place, sometimes making choices that bring temporary comfort but lasting consequences, including toxic relationships and battles with substance use. Then came him-a man who seemed to offer the life De-De had always dreamed of. For over two decades, she believed wealth, a shiny diamond, and the role of "wife" would bring the validation she had long sought. But behind the façade lay manipulation, control, and emotional abuse. Through this experience, De-De learned to recognize the subtle signs of toxicity, understand her own worth, and finally break free from the patterns that had held her captive for so long. The Ring That Changed Nothing is a powerful memoir of survival, resilience, and self-discovery. It is a story for anyone who has faced hardship, doubted themselves, or struggled to break free from toxic influences-a reminder that no matter how long the struggle, healing and empowerment are possible.

About the Author :
De-De is a first-time author whose work explores resilience, identity, and the long path from trauma to self-reclamation. Raised in a deeply unstable environment marked by poverty, neglect, and abuse, she learned early how survival often requires silence, endurance, and adaptation. These formative experiences shaped both her struggles and her strength, setting the stage for a life defined by perseverance rather than defeat. As a young adult, De-De sought structure and belonging through basic training in the military service, later navigating years of instability, addiction, and destructive relationships while striving to build a sense of safety and self-worth. Motherhood became a turning point, anchoring her determination to break generational cycles of abuse and create a healthier life for herself and her son. Her journey includes confronting mental health challenges, recognizing patterns of emotional and psychological harm, and ultimately choosing boundaries, self-respect, and healing. Now in her early fifties, De-De considers herself a true survivor. Someone who has learned to trust her instincts, honor her resilience, and rebuild from the inside out. The Ring That Changed Nothing is her unflinching account of childhood trauma, toxic marriage, and the hard-won rediscovery of self. Through her writing, she hopes to offer recognition, validation, and courage to others who are learning that survival can become strength.
