A standalone romance in the Wild About Monsters collection.
A cozy monster romance for readers who like their men rugged, mysterious, and maybe a little hairy.
When journalist Poppy Lockwood, born-and-raised Granite Falls local, heads up Mountain Loop Highway to check out a string of reported Bigfoot sightings, she expects small-town gossip and maybe a decent article. What she doesn't expect are massive footprints pressed into the mud or the strange pull she feels standing in the trees where something huge once stood.
Then she meets Abe Bigg, the quiet, red-haired owner of Bigg's Lumber. He's all flannel and sawdust, a perfect gentleman wrapped in a body built to split logs. He's steady and patient, and exactly the kind of man her best friend swears she needs to finally let her guard down for.
Torn between the safety of the man she knows and the wild, haunting presence in the woods she can't explain, Poppy finds herself caught between instinct and temptation, never guessing they are one and the same.
Set in the misty forests of Washington's Cascade foothills, Me & Mr. Bigg is a funny, steamy monster romance about secrets, survival, and the kind of love that blurs the line between man and myth.
Review :
This was such a sweet cozy read! I enjoyed that it wasn't an insta love story (nothing wrong with those) because sometimes I miss the sweet little moments of falling in love. This book had lots of those sweet moment and I really enjoyed reading it!
This book was super cute. I found myself doing an equal amount of smiling and cackling at the pages. Overall I would give this a 4.3. It had a little bit of steam and a lot push and pull romance. Poppy is such a lovable and relatable FMC. A girl who reads shifter romances is a girl after my own heart. And Abe is just downright delicious. Who doesn't love a tall, protective, beautiful MMC? One of my favorite quotes was "No armor today. Just me, my camera, and the kind of optimism that usually got people killed."
It was a short and sweet read that I really enjoyed and would read again. Just a cozy little romance to warm the heart. I look forward to reading more books in this monster series!
I thought it might be one of the "monster romances" that are merely a platform for spice. This ended up being a sweet love story. There were still spicy scenes, but they were not the whole plot. If you like a little spice, but with an actual storyline, I would recommend this book to you.
-A cozy, heartwarming monster rom-com filled with humor, sweetness, and just the right touch of spice
