About the Book

This historical fiction romance novel reveals the struggles of life and love in the US during the early 19th century. Captain Andrew Greene discovers that some of life's losses are easily absorbed, but some burn a hole in your heart and soul. He has to find a way to cope with nightmares of battles and the shattered dreams of lost love. When asked to lead a wagon train out West, Andrew sees it as a chance to help fulfill the young country's Manifest Destiny and discover a new future for himself. He leaves everything and everyone behind. Will he find relief along the Oregon Trail, or will that trek lead to disaster? And what about love?

Review :
If you don't want to stay up all night, plan to read Art Williams's powerful 'can't put it down' book, Turning Points, on the weekend. As you follow Andrew Greene's life, you will encounter how he copes with love, death, escaped slaves, unscrupulous overseers, war, the Oregon Trail, fatherhood, and so much more. This book begs for a sequel, and I can't wait to read it. -Agnes Alexander-Sister Circle, Isabella's Baby, Wilma's Outlaw, Nelda's Homecoming, Ulla's Courage, Opal's Faith, and Valissa's Home. Turning Points by Art Williams provides a vivid, close-up look at an early part of American history from the viewpoint of Andrew Greene, farmer, soldier, and eventually wagon master on a hazardous trip westward. The rich detail in this well-researched book provides an intimate and unflinching view of the realities of life in the first half of the nineteenth century. Andrew survives war, injury, and the deaths of friends and loved ones, with each event molding him into a stronger man. -Karen McCullough, author of the Market Center Mysteries series
