I love a book that hooks me in the first few pages. I will give a book 100 pages, but I prefer that it happen far sooner. This book hooks in the first few pages. The short chapters allow the reader to fly through the pages! That said, at times, I needed to put it down in order to breathe for Tiffany, the main character. This lady goes through some trying times that every woman can relate to...as a woman, a daughter, a sister, a mother, a wife, an employee, a friend. You will find yourself somewhere in this story. The empathy the author evoked from me brought me to tears at times. I also laughed and smiled through some tender moments. It reads like a diary or a journal and I love that in a book. Finally, I love a character I can pull for and I was sure pulling for Tiffany from page 1 to the bitter end. I certainly hope this is not Brooks' only novel!
