Fear immobilizes us. It is good at telling us what can't be done. Sometimes it seems to rejoice in failures, whispering in our ear. "I told you it wouldn't work." The goal is given a hideous face and an altitude beyond our lung capacity... or so we think. Fear is at the root of so many things that debilitate progress and growth. Quietly sitting in the back of those corridors housing hate, greed, racism, corruption, treachery, sexism, apathy and whatever else stands in the way of good, old-fashioned opportunity. Fear demonizes questions to its philosophy and grip. It ostracizes imagination in the face of the status quo. Too many of us take it in over inflated doses. This book is about taking our power back, being in tune with the power that comes in overcoming the fears that haunt us, stagnate and, sometimes, spiritually kill us. In these pages a line is being drawn in the sand and fear is not only being faced but overcome one day, one moment or one word at a time. It is not to say we are never afraid, but rather, that fear will no longer dictate where our potential goes. Faced, fear loses some of its power and eventually the sky is truly the limit.

Carrie Myers, MSW, RYT 500 is a writer, speaker, podcaster, mother of three, and proud grandmother. She's been journaling since the age of 10, with poetry serving as her creative anchor through life's many phases. Her words reflect her inner journey-offering healing, growth, and insight along the way.As a certified yoga instructor, Carrie has tapped into new dimensions of self-awareness, using movement and stillness to unlock the deeper layers of her subconscious. Her writing is deeply influenced by this practice, weaving wisdom and intention into every piece.Carrie's mission is to inspire transformation-encouraging others to reconnect with their authentic selves and rediscover the light that lives within. She believes in honoring the beauty found in life's messiness and holds space for every reader and participant to interpret her work in a way that resonates uniquely with their soul's purpose.Through her signature programs, Carrie integrates yoga, meditation, journaling, and community-cultivating spaces rooted in self-love, healing, and human connection. Her goal is simple: to guide, support, and learn alongside every soul she meets.Carrie is also the founder of the Be the Spark Movement, along with Jeffery Martin and Jimmy Zest. The Be the Spark Movement is a social movement that aims to ignite change in the world. We believe that everyone has the power to create positive change in their community, but it takes stepping out of your comfort zone to do so. We organize a once a month zoom call where we discuss how we can create more love, harmony, and compassion in our world. Jeffery Martin is the author of fourteen books. Writing, for him, started as a process for healing. Poetry, essays, novels, children's stories, documentary and film, and historical research are all the genres he tackles. On top of that, his writings have been featured in seven anthologies. He believes that the written word has the power to not only change lives but to save them. Using his journey as a catapult, his goal is to inspire those who wrestle with depression, anger and marginalization. Writing has brought Mr. Martin through homelessness, depression, feelings of inadequacy and suicidal ideation. He expresses himself because it heals and that healing can cause a ripple effect. He is currently working on two novels and a documentary (Paper Graffiti: World Poetry w/ Jeffery Martin). His medicine comes through words, and the goal is to share that magic and watch the healing spread. Jimmy Zest, full name James Masaba Zest, is a Ugandan passionate literature enthusiast. A professional tech and banking consultant, Jimmy is also a writer, mental health and well-being advocate. He advocates for a better world for all, where people can live united together amicably between disagreements and other social differences. Jimmy is a senior member at Be The Spark Movement - an initiative towards transforming the world with love and kindness. Born and raised in Jinja district; Jimmy studied within Jinja City along the banks of the source of The Great Nile River and Lake Victoria. Vicinity situated in the heart of culture and stories.He has over 3 poetry books and stories to his name. Jimmy loves to empower others through the art of storytelling - crafting them with moral lessons that shape personal development. With Carrie and Jeffery, the three came up with an idea of the book The Other Side of Fear. A book aiming at sharing life experiences, thoughts, opinions and stories through perseverance. A former secondary School Literature teacher, Jimmy loves empowering women and children, always advocating for their education and wellbeing. He is always partnering with different individuals and groups on fundraising for the children's school fees and women's creativity to enhance their employment, as well as inspiring their personal growth and healing. He would love this book to be of help or inspiration to someone in the world and those to come.
