About the Book

Finalist in the 2025 Readers' Favorite Book Award Contest. "Sojourners by Dieta Scheidecker was an absolute page-turner that left its mark on me, and I can't wait for book two! Exceptional work!" Jessica Barbosa, Readers' Favorite. "Ahhh, my dear girl," the creature croons. "I have been waiting for one such as you. How fascinating that my adversary has chosen someone so... insignificant. Who would have thought..." An invitation to travel a path many have chosen to abandon... A calling hidden in the weakest vessel.... An enchanting enemy with a wicked agenda... A king who isn't all he appears to be... The path before Kenna is one few choose to follow. Darkness is seeping into the hearts and minds of the people, whispering lies and twisting the truth. Nothing is as it seems. To follow the Path of the King is to risk everything she thought she knew-about the world and about herself. This journey is more than a test of strength; it's a test of identity. Kenna thought she knew who she was, but it was all a lie.

Review :
"Is one way good and the other bad?" Throughout her journey, Kenna was constantly thinking of what choice would be the right choice and what path would be the right path to follow. The narrative was so compelling that I was drawn in from the very start. Scheidecker has a gift for crafting a captivating narrative that left me wanting more with every chapter I finished. She breathed life into the characters with her writing, and her creations were the heartbeat of the story. Kenna's unique perspective put a mysterious spin on the tale that had me flipping the pages faster, wanting to know more, and wondering how this could all end. Overall, Sojourners by Dieta Scheidecker was an absolute page-turner that left its mark on me, and I can't wait for book two! Exceptional work! Reviewed by Jessica Barbosa for Readers' Favorite Wow! Dieta is the next C.S.Lewis! This book, which is an allegory fiction, follows the life on a young girl faced with decisions and choices that only she could make. The characters are lovable, the adventure- action packed. It keeps you on the edge of your seat! I read this book in a day- I couldn't put it down! It's appropriate for kids or adults, I would recommend everyone read it! Rachel Obregon - Verified Amazon 5 Star Review
