About the Book

In September of 2007, three years after his father had passed and just before the Jewish High Holidays, Bruce Levin got a call from above. It was from his mother! His mom told him that their family's former syna-gogue in Connecticut was closing, and was looking to find a new home for one of its Torahs... the Sephardic Torah his father had donated in the early 1960s. This was an opportunity Bruce couldn't pass up. He met with the rabbi from his current temple in Northbrook, Illinois just outside of Chicago, who with open arms agreed to adopt this Torah and offered to build a special ark for it. After learning of the many restrictions involved in handling and shipping a Torah imposed by The Jewish Code of Law, Bruce ended up flying to Con-necticut, renting a Chevy Blazer SUV (dubbed the "Torah Blazer"), and driving it halfway across the country to its new home. Lo and behold, he embarked upon a Torah Road Trip! This lighthearted story of Bruce's two-day journey transporting these sacred scrolls makes for quite a fun, unforgettable ride. This adventure brings to life the story of his father, Abraham, whose character strikes a close resemblance to a fellow in the Torah by the same name. It features his father's memoirs and their relationship together. And along with some valuable learnings from the Torah itself, reveals some of the secrets of what it takes to be a good father.

Review :
A Totally Delightful Page-Turner That'll Keep You Smiling! Non-Fiction often means serious, somber, and tedious... but not with this light-hearted, enormously entertaining, and spellbinding true story. This is a solid five-star story - one that will reward you with a smile long after you finish it Robert Schenck Rolbert Schenck, author of Cost of Grace... An Evangelical Minioster's Rediscovery of Fiath, Hope, and Love A Moving and Entertaining Read Levin's book recounts how our parents shape who we become, and the unexpected but treasured ways loved ones come back to us. The writing is in turn funny, engaging, and earnest... a fitting tribute to the author's father, whom he fonldy portrays as a mix of all three. Melissa Karp, Ph.d in Literature at Duke University A Roadtrip Like No Other The Troah Road Trip is the heartwarming story of a son and the father's legacy brought to life after his passing by a Torah he had donated to their family's temple decades prior. The book makes for a terrific, inspiring read. Allan Zelinger, author of four medical thriller books including Vital Organs, Love Potion, Cord Blood, and The Jevena Project. Loved It! Loved the book! If you enjoy road trips you will get a kick out of it, if you are a person of any faith you will apporeciate it, and if you just enjoy a great, feel-good story you should read it! Susan Reed A Most Heartwarming Book What a spectacular book! A real feel-good story about a father and son relationship. It really brings home the legacies that we create, participate in, and bring to our future generations. Lisa Hoffman The Happiest Road Trip Ever Bruce Levin's book was an incedible journey through his own life. highlighting his special relationship with his wonderful father. It was funny, touching, and truly poignant - I laughed often and was occasionally so moved that I got a lump in my throat. This is a broad and upbeat story for anyone to enjoy! Cory Rogin
