No hope, no future, and apparently no life was what Gruff had going for him, according to his family. Gruff exists in a constant state of physical and emotional abuse, because of this, he sits utterly alone, seemingly abandoned by life; yet, through everything, he always wonders if what he was being told by the community is true.
"You cannot stop what has now started..."
FOREWORD
Gruff is about an older reclusive character, discarded by his family and
community, as he surrenders in despair, accepting that his circumstances
are deserved and that he is born for the sole existence of all the ridicule
that he continually received.
From this simple beginning, he will be brought to an absolutely amazing
adventure, seeking the meaning and purpose of this life from God, His
Creator.
The interactions among the characters of this book make for enjoyable
reading, and there is a clear message of the purpose and sovereignty of why
God created both man and the animal kingdom.
The book clearly defines the gospel of Christ and how God moves in
His majestic power over the affairs of His wonderful creation.
We are more like Gruff oftentimes that we would like to admit. Gruff
has a clear message to all of us and that we are here for a far greater purpose
that we oftentimes are not remotely aware of.

Review :
The book resonates as a mirror reflecting the shared human experience-of grappling with our past, seeking redemption, and realizing a purpose that extends beyond societal judgments.
Robert J Alves has crafted more than a tale; "Gruff" is an exploration, a philosophical journey that beckons readers to ponder the intricacies of their own existence.
Alves paints a canvas where readers, much like the central character, are compelled to reassess their purpose and significance.
The gospel of Christ is artfully woven into the fabric of the story, elevating the novel into a contemplative space where faith and existential questions coalesce.
