What if the Earth is a sentient living being?
Twins Kat and Pat stumble upon a hidden truth: Earth is alive. Whispers of its ancient consciousness awaken when they meet Alder, an emissary from a distant, sentient planet. He, along with others like him, arrived millennia ago on a sacred mission - to reconnect Earth to a quantum network of planets across the universe.
Alder possesses mystical stones that unlock hidden abilities within Kat and Pat - the ability to manipulate the very fabric of reality. Now, the twins must join forces with Alder and others like them, facing down those who wish to sever Earth's connection to its cosmic brethren.
Their journey takes them to the heart of ancient stone monuments in Ireland and England, each a key to unlocking the secrets of the quantum connection. But they are not alone. A hidden faction, descended from the original settlers, seeks to disrupt the connection and keep Earth isolated.
Will Kat and Pat succeed in helping Alder complete the mission of uniting the Earth with the other planets in the Quantum Guild?
This captivating adventure blends the wonder of Julian May's "The Saga of Pliocene Exile" with the thrilling action of "I Am Number Four" (Lorien Legacies).

"Quantum Mind pays homage to concepts treasured by fans of the Star Trek universe - from sentient planets to humanoid guardians for these celestial bodies"
In Quantum Mind, by M.D. Hanley, readers are taken on a gripping science fiction journey with twins Kat and Pat as they encounter the mysterious Alder. Asserting that Earth is not just a passive planet but a sentient being, Alder offers compelling evidence to back his claim. As the twins discover their quantum abilities, resembling superpowers, they become entangled in Alder's mission, driven by the potent colored stones he holds. Their adventure takes them across England and Ireland, revealing that Alder is part of a broader network of cosmic mystics. Some are his allies, while others stand opposed. The twins' involvement becomes paramount for Earth's very survival.
Though the second in a series, newcomers to Hanley's world will swiftly acclimate. The prologue quickly lays the groundwork, and Alder's insightful dialogues further bridge any gaps.
Quantum Mind pays homage to concepts treasured by fans of the Star Trek universe - from sentient planets to humanoid guardians for these celestial bodies. While the book may tread on familiar terrain, this doesn't diminish its charm. The twins, Kat and Pat, are engaging leads, and Alder's intricate connection to Earth offers layers of emotional depth.
The unfolding narrative steadily amplifies the urgency of their quest. Remarkably, the Earth transforms from a backdrop to an emotive entity with desires and imperatives as compelling as its human protagonists. Hanley personifies the planet, deserving commendation for this nuanced portrayal. Dive into Quantum Mind for an enthralling read that blurs the lines between the cosmic and the personal.

"Quantum Mind by MD Hanley is a science-fiction thriller that will surprise and intrigue."
"Quantum Mind is science fiction with a difference. Author MD Hanley has come up with a scenario that is both novel and intriguing. The idea of Earth being sentient and capable of thoughts, feelings, and action is certainly not a concept I have come across in my many years of reading."
"Although stated as a 'young adult' science fiction, I would argue that this story is equally targeted at all ages. I thoroughly enjoyed this read and can highly recommend it."

"Quantum Mind by MD Hanley is an intelligently written and immersive fantasy eco-hybrid novel with a lot of moving parts, all of which click together nicely. My favorite character is Harriet, who to me had not only the most interesting character arc, but also really embodied Hanley's themes of identity, truth-seeking, and the interconnectedness of past and present, especially as these apply to the broader philosophical and existential questions. The landscapes are brought to life in almost cinematic detail, and Hanley uses this brush across the board, whether it's a hotel buffet or an Irish castle. The atmospheric quality is what makes this book really special and extremely easy to get lost in."
