About the Book

Jesse Webster woke up in 1877 Oklahoma, unable to speak or move his hands or feet. The last thing he remembered was trying to protect his young family from a horrible storm that had ripped their cabin and family apart. Unable to move, he found himself at the mercy of a young Apache healer, Tallulah, the wife of a trader who was off selling his wares. The young woman told Jesse that his wife, Abigail, and three daughters were traded to an Apache village, where Abigail was fought over in a skirmish between two Apache warriors. Abigail was forced to become the victor's wife and separated from her three daughters, who were taken in by a Mormon family heading northwest to Utah. As Jesse started improving from his wounds, Tallulah promised that she would help him find his missing wife and children. Traveling through dangerous territories, Jesse learned to trust the resolve and determination of the young healer as she placed her life on the line time and time again to reunite him with his wife. Like the violent storm that turned his life upside down, Tallulah was the storm that changed the course of everyone she came into contact with. The only problem was Jesse Webster was falling in love.

The Storm is a story of heartbreak, loss, hardship, and self-doubt, but also hope, trust, and compassion. Two very different lives intertwined by fate with a common goal altered both Jesse's and Tallulah's opinions in their long-standing belief about each other's culture. They soon learned that people should be judged by their hearts and not by the color of their skin or how they were raised. This saga tells the story of ten years of searching and living life for two people dramatically affected externally as well as internally by Mother Nature.

The Storm is a 274,000-word epic of the lives of Jesse, his wife Abigail, daughters Caroline, Sarah, and Isabelle, whose normal lives would never be the same after the storms, Mother Nature and Tallalula, the Apache woman who, because of her love for Jesse, risked everything to make his family whole once again.
