Review :
"Drawing from his past career, Mike Paull gives us a fast-paced, crime mystery with a unique lead character - Rick Rose, a forensic odontologist. I was fascinated by a profession rarely used in crime fiction and riveted by Rick's drive to unravel the truth about his John Doe. I loved this decent, witty, hard-working man who confronts bureaucratic rules, deception, intimidation, office politics and complications in his personal life, in order to succeed. A terrific read with a surprising twist at the end.

"The storyline in The Head Case grabs your attention from the first page and holds it all the way to the last word on the last page. Additionally, the characters are well-developed and interesting. Not only is this book an intriguing and suspenseful read, but the author also excellently weaves in humor along the way, making it enjoyable to read despite the fact that the story takes place in a morgue. I would definitely recommend The Head Case to anyone who likes mysteries and unexpected twists."

"Mike Paull's The Head Case takes a deep dive into the proverbial rabbit hole, while yielding multiple twists, turns, and double backflips. Mike's crisp narrative style carries the reader along at a fast pace as Rick Rose races against time to give a disembodied head an identity. This well-crafted story left this reader wanting more, so it's satisfying to know that The Head Case is only the second in the continuing Rick Rose series."

"Wise-cracking Rick Rose is back, chasing danger as he digs into his latest case. He starts with the only thing left of the victim-a head-and follows the clues he discovers in John Doe's mouth. Meanwhile, he juggles complicated relationships with the women in his life-his ex, his boss, his secretary, and a new flame. Mike Paull's The Head Case brings us danger, drama, and dark humor as Rick tirelessly hunts for the truth."
