Una historia con diversos matices, que seguramente conmoverá a aquel que logre llegar al epicentro de su mensaje.En segundo lugar, nos encontramos con "Réquiem" (o "El fantasma en el confesionario"), que narra las desventuras de Immanuel Alastair, herrero y poeta oriundo de Londres, junto a un grupo de caballeros que se han visto envueltos en un predicamento dentro de la iglesia de St. Botholp, todo por culpa de una difunta no tan difunta, que, cansada de su eterna soledad, sale en búsqueda de un buen partido para cumplir sus deseos de casamiento. Una amalgama entre los cuentos de terror clásicos y una comedia negra y sarcástica que, nuevamente, cuenta con un fuerte elemento emocional.Por último, pero no menos importante, tenemos a "El dilema de Huntington", un intento de relato tanto "detectivesco" como epistolar, que centra su narrativa en Paulette Jean Appleton, una jovencita de 17 años que intenta desenmarañar los secretos detrás de su linaje, a la par que se ve aquejada por una terrible enfermedad, que poco a poco, amenaza con traer un desenlace funesto. Un cuento con varias capas de profundidad, que, debido a su naturaleza ambigua en un primer momento, requerirá de varias lecturas para poder comprenderle de manera satisfactoria.Esta recopilación de fascinantes narraciones está pensada para incitar al lector a pensar y a encontrar detalles y conclusiones más allá de lo evidente, y aquel que invierta su tiempo en el análisis y desgloce de estos trabajos y de los temas que manejan, encontrará un valor añadido que, de otra forma, bien podría pasar desapercibido. Sin duda, un título emocionante e intrigante a partes iguales.
