About the Book

From Jenner Arriaga, his first published screenplay is described as Lawrence of Arabia meets Ferris Bueller's Day Off... Timmy - a hard-working, straight-A student - navigates through high school with his best friend Klark. The two become distant when Timmy meets a new group of troublemaking kids. He spends time with them and decides to disregard his education. Conflict rises between Timmy and Justin - the leader of his new group of friends - leading to Justin taking Timmy to a dangerous building associated with organized crime. Timmy manages to escape, however, due to a tactical team raiding the location. Another of Timmy's new friends - a kid known only as "John" - also manages to escape. Timmy - having enjoyed the adrenaline rush - decides to strike a partnership with "John" who works for a crime group that operates in the criminal underworld. The crime groups within this hidden world have maintained structure and peace by following rules and upholding so-called honor. Honor, family, friendships, and the city are at stake once events spiral out of control. Events that break the peace of the organized crime world and have chaos spread across the city. Timmy is "a John Hughes coming-of-age story meets a David Lean epic with a healthy splash of a Jenner Arriaga thriller" for ages 18 and up. Timmy is a prequel to the Worldwide Intelligence Agency series. About the Author Jenner Arriaga is a high school student who has been fascinated by stories ever since he was a kid, whether told through the medium of films or a past experience recalled by a family member. Two people throw a person inside. The door is SLAMMED shut. The sound of the person getting up can be heard. A voice speaks from the DARKNESS. THE VOICE: You do know why I have taken these precautions, don't you? THE PERSON: Yes, sir. THE VOICE: Feel your way to the wall on your right. The person's footsteps sound in the room as he does so. THE VOICE: Follow the wall until you feel the window. The person continues to walk along the wall. The person stops. THE PERSON: I feel the window. THE VOICE: Open it. The person opens it, and the moonlight enters the room. The person's face is revealed. The person turns to see the man who has been talking but cannot due to the man still being in the darkness. THE PERSON: Yes, sir. THE VOICE: Because of you, we lost an entire shipment. We lost men. We lost time. I lost money. There is a pause. Then silence. THE VOICE: Do you understand? THE PERSON: Yes. Sir. THE VOICE: How are you going to make up for this? THE PERSON: Uh- THE VOICE: Tell me, Armando. How are you going to make up for this waste? THE PERSON/ARMANDO: I will think of something. I promise. I have to. THE VOICE: What is my guarantee that I will get my money back? ARMANDO: T-There is none. THE VOICE: (beat) That is not very convincing, Armando. ARMANDO: You know where I live. I know that you will hurt those that I love. THE VOICE: "Shadow" will check over your operation. ARMANDO: You mean that he will lead it? THE VOICE: No. That is your job. All he will do is report back to me. ARMANDO: I will bring the plan to you tomorrow. THE VOICE/"MR. HAROLD" No. You are not to speak to me again until after your operation. And even afterward, there is no guarantee that you will be able to speak to me again. Get out.
